1000 DEAD

At 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, the State of Ohio will commit the aggravated murder Marvallous Keene. He will be the 31st person murdered by Ohio since the resumption of executions in 1999, the 3rd in 2009, and the 5th in the last 12 months.

More dramatically, he'll be the 1,000th person in the United States killed by lethal injection.

And it will be by a method of lethal injection that has been held to violate his constitutional rights.

Another milepost. Another death. To what end?
