End of an era

I'm a sentimentalist. I cried when Ted Kennedy spoke at the Democratic Convention last year. I didn't always agree with him, found him too much of a pragmatist, too willing to compromise to achieve his objectives. But I loved his passion and his compassion.

Requiescat in pace.

Photo of Edward Kennedy «My brother was a man of love and sentiment and compassion. He would not have wanted his death to be cause for the taking of another life.»

-- Edward Kennedy, Senator Edward Kennedy on the assassination of his brother Robert by Sirhan Sirhan.

Thanks to Bill Ferretti for finding the quote. (And to this website, from which I lifted it.)
